Focus and Scope

Sustainability Agri Food Environmental Research (SAFER) aim`s is sustainability, food and agriculture production and their impacts in natural resources at local and international level. SAFER publish unpublished results in environmental sciences, aquaculture, agronomy, veterinary and silviculture. The aim of this journal is academicians, professionals and students interested in natural resources. In this journal it publishes scientific papers, review papers, scientific and technical notes. SAFER is a seriated and trimestral publication published by the Catholic University of Temuco with the support of the Research and Postgraduate Direction of the Catholic University of Temuco, and edited by Natural Resources Faculty.

Peer Review Process

Once received the manuscript, the Editorial Commission will revise the compliment of formal rules and it will design two specialists in the theme as anonymous receiver. The peer review is double blind.

The Editorial Commission will kept that does not exist familiar, work and other relations between reviewers and authors. The evaluators will have one month as maximum deadline for submit their evaluations to the Editorial Commission. Once received the evaluation it can be the following scenarios (and respective responses):

a) If both approve, the article will be published.

b) If both reprove, the article will not be published.

c) If one reviewer approve with major modifications and the other reviewer reject, the manuscript will returned to the author(s) and it can be submitted again for a reviewing process by new reviewers.

d) If both reviewers approve with major modifications the manuscript will returned to the author(s) for do the corrections before the next 15 days from the notification sending date from the Main Editor. After it, the same reviewers will verify if the corrections were done. If the author don`t manifest its interest within this period, it will understand that the manuscript will not continue in reviewing process.

e) If a reviewer approve with major modifications and the other with minor modifications, the manuscript will be returned to the author for correct it, it will late 15 days from the notification sending date from the Main Editor. After it, the same reviewers will verify if the corrections were done. If the author don`t manifest its interest within this period, it will understand that the manuscript will not continue in reviewing process.

f) If one reviewer approves and the second reviewer approved with major modifications the manuscript will be submitted to a third reviewer and it result will determine if the manuscript is approved (if the third reviewer approves it) or if the manuscript is returned to the author (if the third reviewer suggest major or minor modifications or rejection) in according to the main suppositions in the reviewing process.

g) If both reviewers suggested minor modifications it will returned the manuscript to the author(s) for do it. The author(s) will have 15 days for do the modifications and these will verify by Editorial Commission.

h) If one reviewer reject and the second reviewer approved with minor modifications the manuscript will be submitted to a third reviewer and it result will determine if the manuscript is approved with minor changes (if the third reviewer suggest or approves it) or if the manuscript is returned to the author (if the third reviewer suggest modifications or rejection) in according to the main suppositions in the reviewing process.

i) If one reviewer approved and the second reviewer rejects the manuscript the Editorial Commission will evaluate politically, in according to the variety (sex, language, nationality), aim of the manuscript, author relevance and another variables.

Publication Frequency

The issues will be published the last March, June, September and December every year.

Open Access Policy

This is an OPEN ACCESS journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.  This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Copyright policies

The authors grant journal Sustainability, Agri, Food and Environmental Research the right to publish and distribute the articles that are voluntarily used in their editorial process by the various graphic and / or digital media that they currently own and those that are available in the future, especially through their website and the different databases in which it is indexed. Manuscripts submitted to the Journal must be original and the authors agree not to submit them at the same time to other publications. Authors may not edit by themselves, or authorize third parties by any means to edit their works published in the Journal, unless the latter, through its Director, expressly authorizes it. In all cases, copyrights are kept by the authors, the contents of their works being their sole responsibility. The journal Sustainability, Agri, Food and Environmental Research is obliged to guarantee the author, free of charge, unlimited access to the magazine's web page, or web addresses that in the future it will establish as the official site of the publication. The journal Sustainability, Agri, Food and Environmental Research will be at its discretion to set the technical characteristics with which the work will be prepared, the design of the covers and published works, the methods of distribution, advertising and dissemination. The journal Sustainability, Agri, Food and Environmental Research Magazine, due to its eminently academic nature, does not have profit penalties, consequently, it will not charge the authors for processing or publication, nor payments for these concepts related to the publication of their articles. The authors authorize that the works be published by the journal, on its website, and in national or international databases to which the publication is subscribed
